Dinosaur Bone Beads from the Utah/Colorado border area

Most gemstones are crystallized minerals, but here we have dinosaur bone beads.  Dino bone bridges the gap between organic and mineral.  The stones are fossils of bone fragments that have had their organic components replaced by mineral elements.  (Silicate minerals like quartz and chalcedony replace the organic elements.)  And this creates something truly extraordinary!

These little chip beads are bits of dinosaur bone that were tumbled.  Colors vary and each strand has a mix of colors, however, one color tends to be predominant.  Some bead areas look agate-y.  They all have the nice patterns and interesting formations that are characteristic of dino bone!
