This rare material comes from Araçuaí in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It cuts much like feldspar or quartz and is a must for every collector. For more information about cutting petalite and its properties, check out our petalite info page. May contain a few small typical cleavages on the surface that will cut out in the faceting process. Otherwise, these stones are flawless.
Petalite grows in relatively flat crystals. Therefore, it is hard to find material that offers a good yield. We were lucky enough to be able to select the cleanest and best yielding stones from over 10 kilos of rough!
