Root Beer Onyx Slabs from Grapevine Canyon Arizona

Root Beer Onyx is a captivating natural stone found in Grapevine Canyon, Arizona. Although it is often referred to as “onyx,” it’s essential to note that it’s not true onyx in the geological sense. Unlike genuine onyx, which is a parallel-banded chalcedony (a type of quartz), Root Beer Onyx is composed of banded calcite.

Root Beer Onyx exhibits warm and earthy tones, reminiscent of—you guessed it—root beer! The colors range from reddish-orange to cream.
